Rachel has a wide range of therapeutic experiences from individual mental health to working with families in a variety of contexts. She enjoys working with teens, adults and families who need a little extra support in life. She has a laid back, nonjudgmental approach and knows that people are doing the best that they can. She recognizes the importance of finding a therapist who is a good fit and will work hard to develop a safe, supportive, respectful, and productive environment for all clients. She has been trained in and practiced Experiential Play Therapy and worked in an IOP setting in the past. Now she has moved to working with teens and adults providing talk therapy via telehealth. She enjoys helping other process through their concerns and problem solve better solutions.
Rachel works with a variety of concerns. In particular, she works with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, parenting, and women’s issues. Rachel uses a variety of approaches to best meet the needs of client’s including, but not limited to: Experiential Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness. Rachel accepts clients 12 years old and older.
Rachel obtained her undergraduate degree in Family Service and Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa. She obtained a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Rachel worked at Aris Clinic’s IOP program for 5 years, and now is offering outpatient therapeutic services with an emphasis of anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and parenting.
