Talk Therapy

Counseling and Psychotherapy

Counseling and Psychotherapy — or simply talk therapy — is a collaborative effort between therapist and patient to establish treatment goals and develop strategies and solutions to meet those goals.

People choose to enter talk therapy for a variety of reasons. They may have recognized the need to change some problematic behaviors. They may desire to improve important relationships in their life, such as a marriage or parenting relationship. Other people desire to learn how to better cope with difficult feelings such as anxiety or sadness. Some people find themselves struggling with a difficult life circumstance — such as grief or major life transition — and could use some help with learning how to move forward. While there are myriad personal reasons for entering talk therapy, the hopeful result is universally the same:  To lead a richer and more fulfilling life.

At Aris clinic, our mental health professionals are trained to work with individuals, families and groups to establish goals and utilize evidence-based practices to help people begin living a richer and more fulfilling life.
